The Oris x Cervo Volante collaboration begins with three Big Crown Pointer Date watches. Each with a gradient dial inspired by alpine hues and a sustainable deer leather strap. They come with a case and a card holder made of the same material. But they are not limited and it is not a punctual collaboration either. Flying Deer In 2017, friends Kadri Vunder Fontana, a biotech engineer and seasoned entrepreneur, and Conny Thiel-Egenter, a biologist specializing in nature conservation and wildlife and habitat management, founded Cervo Volante. His vision was to take waste, specifically deer skins, and transform it into attractive, hard-wearing and ultimately sustainable footwear and accessories. His business has grown rapidly. A year ago, hearing about Oris' Change for the Better campaign, we were contacted to collaborate on a sustainable deerskin strap project. We take the opportunity. Cervo Volante's handmade products, low-impact methods, and tremendous vision have brought us much joy. His leather shoes and accessories are not only beautiful, they tell stories in a way that other mass-created products never could. For example, they keep in their skin the imperfections generated during the life of a deer, which many companies would discard. Their skins are never the product of agriculture and do not require chemicals or fertilizers. And if the skins were not used in this way, they would simply burn. Cervo Volante also collaborates with the last two tanneries in Switzerland, where 100% vegetable tanning processes are used.
